
Hounds Touch – Junior State Cup 2027 Trial and Program Information

All players are invited to register to trial for the Representative pathway of our Hounds Development and Representative Program.
Representative teams will compete at the Queensland Touch Football Junior State Cup from Thursday 8 July to Saturday 10 July 2027 in Rockhampton, along with associated lead-in carnivals.
Who Can Trial?
To be eligible for trial and selection, players must:

Be registered and financially active in Season 2 (2026) and/or Season 1 (2027)

Attend both trial dates, unless a valid reason is provided

Be aged between 7 and 17 years as of December 2026
We aim to field multiple teams across the U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18 boys’ and girls’ divisions, offering opportunities for players of all ages.

Player Commitment
Selection in the program requires a strong commitment from players and families. Players are expected to be available for and attend the following key activities throughout the program:

Players must attend both trial days (specific dates and times to be confirmed).

Team training from February to July on Sundays. Sessions are scheduled by the coach times to be confirmed.

Strength and Conditioning active participation and engagement in individual and team based sessions. Players can anticipate that sessions will coincide with team training commitments.

Playing Commitment: Girls - Thursday night competition and Boys - Friday night competition (to be confirmed)

Attend the following SEQ lead in carnivals:

Twisters Cup, Toowoomba (held on a Sunday in late late April / early May)

Arthur Davis Memorial Cup, Redlands (held on a Sunday in late May)

Hounds Cup, Rocklea (held on a Sunday in mid June)

Junior State Cup, 8th, 9th & 10th July, held in Rockhampton
Trial Dates
Trial dates for the 2027 Hounds Development and Representative Programs are currently being finalised and will be announced closer to the commencement of the program.
Trials are expected to be held on Sunday mornings, with scheduling designed to minimise clashes with the 2027 Season 1 competition where possible.
Parent Information
A parent briefing will be held on-site during the trials.
This program is built on a strong foundation of player development, inclusion, and representative pathways.
Trial Uniform Requirement – CFMG Capital Hounds Academy Singlet or Shirt
All players must wear the Hounds Academy singlet or shirt to both trial sessions. If successful in selection these shirts/singlets are to be worn to all training commitments.

When completing the nomination form, you will need to provide the player number printed on the back of their Academy top.
If you are new to the program or do not have an Academy top, you will be prompted to purchase one during registration. These items are heavily subsidised thanks to our sponsors CFMG Capital and IMPI Sportswear.

Playing Fee – (covers participation in the Thursday/Friday night competition)

Playing Uniform – (official playing uniform worn at all carnivals and separate from the Academy training shirt/singlet)

Registration Requirement
You will need your child’s MySideline NRL ID and their Hounds Academy shirt/singlet number to complete the trial registration.
